Finish Top 4 at Helltown
GWC never backs down from competition! This weekend was no different, as the Highlanders traveled southwest to Helena for the prestigious annual Helltown Throwdown. This year's event featured 71 different youth clubs and a record 1,111 boy and girl wrestlers in attendance. It was the Glasgow Wrestling Club's first time attending this event in its 10 years of existence and the Highlanders would end up bringing the fifth biggest squad to competition.
With 38 wrestlers suiting up; GWC ultimately crowned four individual champions, 17 top three finishers, and a total of 27 top six place winners. What a showing!! The impressive haul was good enough for a team score of 78 points: 4th overall in the team standings and 3rd place among the large team division, just 7 points short of a large team championship. Glasgow trailed only Team Champs (Billings West) 85 points and Mine Yard Dogs (Butte) 79 points.
This Saturday, Jan. 27, the Glasgow Wrestling Club will host its annual Invitational in Scottie Gymnasium. Over 500 youth wrestlers are expected to attend in what has become the premier regular season event within the Northeast Division!
