The Scottie girls fell 56-43 to the visiting Poplar Indians Jan. 12. Glasgow's record now sits at 1-2 in conference play, 3-6 overall.
Glasgow led 12-8 at the end of the first quarter but trailed 20-16 at the half. Poplar drove up the score with a 22-point showing in the third while holding the Scotties to 11 points. Glasgow outscored Poplar 16-14 in the final quarter but were unable to overcome the deficit.
Mayzie Yoakam led all scorers with 22 points, hitting for 15 in the fourth quarter. Joely Chappell scored 11 followed by Gina Page and Tanae Baker, both with 3 points. Macy Martin and Hayden Green scored 2 each.
The Scottie JV team won their game 58-35. Riley Evenson-Glasoe poured in 20 points to lead the squad followed by Kelbi Wesal and Hannah Holinde, both with 9 points. Ava Runner added 8, Bailey Billingsley 4, Haleigh Huntsman and Lacey White 3 each, and Gina Page 2 points.
The C squad also decisively won their game, 52-11. Wersal and Runner both scored 12 in leading the team. Billingsley hit for 10, Huntsman 7, Myli Swindler and Holinde 4 a piece, Debra Shields 2 and White 1 point.
Glasgow hosts the Fairview Warriors for JV and Varsity action Thursday, Jan. 18. Action will begin at 3:30. The Harlem Wildcats will be in town Friday, Jan. 19 for C, JV and Varsity play beginning at 3 p.m.
