The Montana Coaches Association (MCA) is pleased to announce that Char Wasson, volleyball coach for the North Country Mavericks, and Tim Phillips, girls’ cross country coach for the Glasgow Scotties, was selected by a vote of member coaches as “Coach of the Year” for the 2023 fall sports season.
This is the second year Coach Wasson has brought the North Country Maverick volleyball team to state and clinched third place at the All-Class Volleyball Tournament in Bozeman this past November.
This was Phillips first year as head coach for the Scottie runners and he brought the girls to a second place finish at the State Cross Country meet in Kalispell this past October.
A total of 24 coaches will be honored at the 2024 MCA Awards Ceremony at CMR High in Great Falls on Aug. 1, 2024.
