Ice Dawgs Bring Home Two Wins

Beat Bozeman 8-0 and 6-1

The Ice Dawgs downed the Icedogs in Bozeman this past weekend, sweeping the doubleheader to bring home two wins. Glasgow owned Bozeman Saturday in an 8-0 victory and dropped the Dogs 6-1 Sunday.

Glasgow went up 2-0 in the first, increased their lead to 6-0 before intermission and scored twice in the final period Saturday. Brody Hansen started the scoring action with Peyton Smith, assists Zevin Kummerfeldt and Tavin Boland, in the first.

Hansen, assists Lex Fairclough and Dillon Hughes; Boland, assist Kummerfeldt; Boland SHG, assist Bode Barnett, and Hunter PPG, assist Smith, increased the lead in the second. Fairclough and Smith, assist Kummerfeldt, sealed the win in the third.

Jacob Potter faced nine shots in goal and earned the shut out for the Dawgs.

Glasgow racked up 20 minutes on six infractions while Bozeman spent 18 minutes in the box on five calls. Barnett, 2-and-10 on checking from behind and misconduct; Kummerfeldt, roughing; Boland, roughing; Fairclough, roughing and Fairclough, interference, served time in the sin bin for Glasgow.

Sunday morning, Glasgow rushed out to a 5-0 lead in the first period, gave up one goal in the second and finished with one goal in the third period.

Hansen again started the action for Glasgow, followed by Mason Hunter, assists Boland and Aiden Price; Hansen, assists Eli Howland and Barnett; Connor Koski, and Smith, assists Hansen and Hunter. Smith closed out the game in the third with help form Tristan Powell and Boland.

Potter turned away 10 shots for a .909 save percentage and the win.

Both teams notched 22 penalty minutes on seven calls each. Hunter, roughing; Smith, roughing; Powell, tripping; Hansen, tripping; Smith, roughing; Hunter, roughing; and Smith, misconduct, served time for Glasgow.

The Dawgs travel to Sidney Saturday, Dec. 16, for a 1 p.m. game. They then take the holidays off and return to action Jan. 6 and 7, 2024, with home games against Assiniboia, Saskatoon.
