Scottie Boys Basketball Falls 54-48 in Glendive

Glasgow’s boys basketball team fell in their season opener, dropping a 54-48 contest to the Class A Red Devils in Glendive Dec. 1. The Scotties fell behind 19-9 at the end of one and trailed 38-23 at the half. Glasgow battled back in the second half, outscoring Glendive 15-8 in the third and 10-8 in the fourth quarter.

Cade Hudyma put up a double-double for Glasgow with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Wyatt Babb added 8 points, seven assists and two steals. Myles Yoakam put up 8 points with one block while Connor Hudyma scored 7 points and pulled down seven boards. Nick Solorzano scored 6 points and led in steals with three.

The JV team also lost their game in Glendive, falling 61-38. Glasgow turned in a balanced performance with nearly every player scoring. Wyatt Sugg led the squad with 7 points followed by Trey Graham and David Tolzien, both with 6. Noah Runner and Andy Hansen scored 5 points a piece, Gage Waarvik 4, Cash Stulc 3 and Tripp Mavity 2 points.

Glasgow’s C squad lost 59-22. Gavin Redstone led the team with 6 points, followed by Stulc and Mavity with 3 each. Gage Larsen, Drew Simensen, Liam Chapman, Braxton Potter and Waarvik with 2 points a piece.

The Scottie JV team will play the Porcupines Friday, Dec. 8, in Nashua at 6 p.m.

The varsity boys will attend the Woodden Memorial Tournament in Red Lodge Friday and Saturday, Dec. 8-9. Glasgow plays Big Timber Friday at 5 p.m. and Joliet Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Varsity games will be broadcast on KLTZ and NFHS.
