Caring Hands Awards $8,000 In Scholarships

Caring Hands, formerly Soroptomist Intl. of Glasgow, strives to pursue the vision that women and families have the resources to reach their full potential and to improve the lives of women and families through programs and scholarships.

The Caring Hands Volunteer Award ($1,000) is offered to students ages 14-17 residing in Valley County and are volunteering in school and/or community.

The Caring Hands Opportunity Scholarship ($2,000) is offered to men and women in Valley County who have faced economic and personal hardships and are providing primary support for self and dependents.

The recipient of the Caring Hands Opportunity award is Brooklyn Schmidt. She is a 2022 graduate of Glasgow High School pursuing a degree in nursing.

The Caring Hands Post-Graduate Scholarships ($3,000) is available to any person who resides in Valley County and holds a bachelor's or master's degree desiring an advanced degree or to enhance standing or competence in his/her profession.

The two recipients of the Caring Hands Post-Graduate scholarship are: Sarah Schmidt, from Hinsdale, and Michelle Harada, from Nashua.

Schmidt will be working towards a Master of Arts in science education and Michelle Harada will be enhancing her degree of Master of Science and Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling.
