Proclaims November 5-11 as Veterans Week
Governor Greg Gianforte proclaimed November as Veterans and Military Families Month and November 5-11 as Veterans Week in Montana, on Nov. 6.
The governor’s proclamation is below.
WHEREAS, Montana is proud to be home to one of the highest per capita populations of veterans in the United States, with nearly 90,000 veterans, as well as thousands of military service members in the U.S. Air Force and Montana Air and Army National Guard and their families; and
WHEREAS, answering the call to serve, members of the U.S. Armed Forces make tremendous sacrifices in defense of our freedoms and way of life each day; and
WHEREAS, behind those who serve are brave families whose support allows service members to focus on the challenges and missions they face in the line of duty; and
WHEREAS, because of the sacrifices of service members – past and present – and military families, we live in the greatest country on Earth;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Greg Gianforte, Governor of the State of Montana, do hereby proclaim November 2023
VETERANS AND MILITARY FAMILIES MONTH
and November 5-11, 2023
VETERANS WEEK
in Montana to show our extraordinary appreciation and gratitude for veterans, service members, and their families.
