GMS XC Finishes Season With Team Wins

The Glasgow Middle School cross country season came to an end this past weekend at the Harlem Invitational. Both boys and girls closed out the season on a high note, with both squads running to a first place finish – another couple PRs to end the season as well.

I can’t say enough how pleased I was with the improvement throughout the season from these runners. What a fun, hard working group I had the pleasure to work with my first season as head coach. So many people to thank: To my runners, I thank you for keeping me on my toes, for putting up with a first year coach who, at times I’m sure, looked completely lost, and for always being ready to put in the work even if it wasn’t your favorite training day.

To the parents who came out and supported us week in and week out, I can’t even begin to tell you how much it is noticed. I’d like to once again thank the high school coaches Phillips, Hughes, and McKean for always having an answer to any question I had. To Coach Wyse, Coach Huntsman, and Coach Pattison at the middle school level – I don’t even know where to start … I thank you all so much for being there to help better these kids.

I’ll say it again Glasgow, there are some names down here that you’re going to read about in the coming years.

One final shoutout to my wife, who accepts and supports all the late nights, long days, and time away from home that coaching brings: I couldn’t do this without you. GO SCOTTIES!
