"Another race in the books for the Middle School cross country team this Saturday at the Scottie Invitational," said head coach Will Larsen. "Strong times for all my runners this weekend with another PR and a few more not far off, on a course that had some tough corners and two-way traffic at times."
The Glasgow harriers hit the course at Kiwanis Park in Fort Peck for the Scottie Invitational, part of a huge homecoming week for Scottie sports. The meet featured varsity, JV and middle school action capped off with a Scottie skills members elementary showcase.
The middle school girls put five runners in the top 41, out of a field of 115 competitors while five boys finished in the top 20 placers. The girls took fifth place out of 10 teams while the boys topped their field.
"I thought they all ran really well today, with Addie Hughes and Ryder Bilger coming on strong on the girls side and my killer B's, Beckett Doornek and Baden White running strong today as well," Coach Larsen told the Courier. "Special acknowledgment to Coaches Wyse, Pattison and Huntsman for all their help today! Excited to get back to it this week before the Sidney Invitational next Saturday."
The middle school girls will run at 11:45 a.m. followed by the boys at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, in Sidney.
