Shakira Beston competes in the Scottie Invitational at Fort Peck Sept. 30. Beston set a season record at 28:25.96.
The Bearcubs made the short trip from Frazer to Fort Peck Sept. 30 to hit the trails at Kiwanis Park for the Glasgow Cross Country Invitational. The boys team scored 203 team points for ninth place. The girls fielded two runners, who both set season records.
Isabelle Even ran a 26:31.05 to take 45th place out of 65 runners in the girls race. Shakira Beston placed 53rd with a time of 28:25.96.
Jarvis Goodbird paced the Bearcub boys with an 11th place showing out of 75 racers. He finished the Downstream Campground course in 18:51.23. Gabe Beston ran a 19:45.78 for 27th place while Cassius Smoker took 60th place at 22:28.49. Christopher Fox and Joseph Beston both set personal records in Fort Peck. Fox placed 67th at 23:29.43 and J. Beston ran a 28:16.22 for 75th place.
