Glasgow took a win in their conference and lost a non-conference match-up on the volleyball court this past week. The Scotties defeated the Poplar Indians in three sets Sept. 15 before dropping a hard fought battle in four sets to the Class A Sidney Eagles the following day.

At home Friday, the Scotties swept the Indians 25-18, 25-8, 25-15. Glasgow had 15 aces, 25 kills, 19 assists, six blocks and 18 digs in the win.

Tatum Nyquist had four aces to lead Glasgow. Joely Chappell and Hayden Green both had seven kills while Macy Martin led in assists with 18 helpers. Green stopped five Poplar shots and Gina Page put six digs on the stats sheet.

The C and JV teams also won their matches. Glasgow's C squad took their match in three 25-15, 25-16, 15-9 while the JV match went to four sets with the Scotties winning 25-21, 21-25, 15-11, 15-11.

The Scotties welcomed the Eagles Saturday and while Glasgow took Sidney past the 25 point mark twice, they dropped the match 17-25, 26-24, 28-26, 21-25. Glasgow put up eight aces, 25 kills, 22 assists, 10 blocks and 73 digs in their match.

Green led in aces and blocks with three and seven, respectively. Martin had 19 of the team's 22 assists. Nyquist and Chappell both had eight kills while Chappell joined Halle Hunter to lead in digs as each put up 19 on the stats sheet.

Sidney served up losses to the Scottie C and JV teams as well. The Scottie C team took the match to four sets but lost 25-19, 19-25, 1-15, 10-15. Glasgow's JV team went the distance with five games but also fell 26-24, 17-25, 15-10, 12-15, 10-15.

"Two really tough games this week," head coach Brooke Martin said while looking ahead to two more conference games this week. "If we can play defense and block like we did against Sidney [Saturday] I like our chances against anyone we've seen this year. Malta and Wolf Point always come with their 'A' game against so we need to be focused and ready to be aggressive offensively."

The Scotties will be in Wolf Point Thursday, Sept. 21, for C, JV and varsity action with the first match scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, Glasgow hosts the Malta M-ettes with all three teams hitting the court before the Scottie football game against the Mustangs. C quad will start at 1 p.m. followed by JV and varsity matches. The Scotties travel to Glendive Saturday, Sept. 23, to take on the Class A Red Devils for C, JV and varsity action beginning at 1 p.m. All games will be broadcast live on the NFHS Network.

Glasgow's homecoming volleyball game will be Saturday, Sept. 30, against Fairview. The Scottie C, JV and varsity teams will play with C squad starting the action at 2:30 p.m.
