Delores "Dee" M. (Engen) Johnson, age 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 13, 1943, in Fairview, Mont., to Gilbert and Dorothy Engen. She graduated from Glasgow High School in 1961.
Dee loved to sing and dance to her own tune. She lived a simple and uncomplicated life. Her life was her family. Anyone who knew Dee, knew that she was a woman not afraid to voice her opinion or speak her peace.
Her loving husband, Slim Johnson, of 40 years, was her knight in shining armor.
Delores was the proud mother of six children: Donita (Terry) Magnuson, Jamie (David) Holmes, Danny (Rhonda) Bilbruck, Chuck Bilbruck, David (Wendy) Bilbruck, and Dawn (Dan) Daubner.
Stepchildren: Travis Johnson and Sonja Jo Johnson.
Grandchildren: Nichole Patterson, Angela Holmes, Donita Wallace, Danielle Braun, Tyler Bilbruck, TeAra Bilbruck, Sady Bilbruck, Haley Bilbruck, Alex Bilbruck, Adam Gilbreath, Ashleigh Knaff, Nathan Hopstad, and Natalie Hopstad.
Great grandchildren: Blake Estes, Kara Gilbreath, Kennedeigh Knaff, Stella Fisher, Elliot Page, Hank Hopstad, Porter Hopstad, and Paisley Partridge.
Dee is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert Engen and Dorothy Kress; brothers Gilbert Engen and George Engen; sister Janie Engen; and infant daughter Janie Bilbruck.
Funeral services were held Sept. 12, at 1 p.m., at Bell Mortuary in Glasgow, Mont. A private graveside service was held immediately following.
Those who wished to pay condolences, met the family at Sunnyside Golf Course from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
