Kathleen (Bundus) Arndt passed away of natural causes peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. She was 77.
Her wishes were to be cremated and buried between her parents. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, in Hinsdale, Mont., at the Hillview Cemetery. All are welcome to attend. Time and officiant to be announced later.
Kathleen was born on Jan. 10, 1946, in Glasgow, Mont., to Edward and Elsie Bundus. After spending part of her childhood growing up in Vandalia, Mont., the family moved to Hinsdale. She attended Hinsdale Public School and Hinsdale High where she graduated in 1963.
After high school, she went to work for Dr. Gray, a dentist in Glasgow. She later met Jim Arndt and married on June 22, 1968. They were married for 10 years before divorcing in 1978.
Kathleen went to work bartending at The Sleeping Buffalo in Saco, Mont., and later moved to Glasgow and bartended at CGs Oasis. In 1983, she went to work for the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation in Glasgow. In 1987, she was transferred to their Helena, Mont., office where she remained until retiring in 2011.
After retiring, she kept busy with various projects. She also made several trips back to Hinsdale and Sidney, Mont., to visit family and friends. One her greatest joys was having her grandson John "JDub" come visit during summer vacation.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Elsie Bundus.
Kathleen is survived by her son, David Arndt, of Helena, Mont.; grandson, John Arndt, of Eldorado, Kansas; stepdaughters Carol Ann Henry, of Richland, Wash., and Shirlee Whitaker, of Saco; and stepson Chuck Arndt, of Nashua, Mont.
