JoAnn Helen Pliley

JoAnn Helen Pliley, of Glasgow, Mont., passed away at Valley View Nursing Home, in Glasgow, on Monday, June 27, 2023.

JoAnn was 88 years old, born on April 9, 1935, in Fosston, Minn., to Alice and James Campbell.

She moved to Long Beach, Calif., and then to Glasgow in 1946. JoAnn graduated from Glasgow High School where she met Donald Pliley. They fell in love and married on Dec. 26, 1951.

Don and JoAnn resided in the Glasgow area where they farmed and raised two children. JoAnn enjoyed her role as a homemaker, cooking, baking, and sewing many wonderful items for her children and grandchildren from cute outfits to table runners and placemats to quillows.

JoAnn had many friends in the Glasgow area and loved going for coffee with Don to visit with them all.

She was an active member of the Glasgow Evangelical Church for many years.

JoAnn enjoyed being the other half to Don and wherever they went, Don always referred to her as the love of his life.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband Donald Gene Pliley; her parents, James Raymond Campbell and Alice Henrietta Jellum Campbell; and her sisters, Mary Alice Hickok and Nancy Fox.

JoAnn is survived by her two children, James E. (Patricia) Pliley, Glasgow/Florida, and Pamela D. (James) Burch, of Kasson, Minn. JoAnn has nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Family receiving friends was held on June 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bell Mortuary in Glasgow.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 29, at 11 a.m. at Glasgow Evangelical Church with Pastor Seth Runner officiating, burial followed in Highland Cemetery. There was a luncheon at the Glasgow Evangelical Church following the burial.
