Darlene Joyce Christenson, of Billings, Mont., passed away on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, from complications of Parkinson's. She was 83 years old.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 10, at 1 p.m., at First Methodist Church in Glasgow, Mont.
Darlene was born April 10, 1939, in Martinsville, Mont., near Fort Peck, Mont. She married Dale Christenson in December 1956. They lived in Glasgow, where they started their family. In 1968 they moved to Billings, Mont., to seek better employment opportunities. They built their first home in Billings Heights and lived there until they relocated to Ballantine, Mont.
She enjoyed bowling, shooting pool and working in her garden. They liked to go camping and boating with their kids and grandkids in the summer. Their property was secluded and a fun place to hang out, go four-wheeling and shoot trap. They moved back to Billings in 2019 to be closer to medical facilities. Her primary care giver was Dale and she was able to live at home until her death.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Dale, and her four children, Denis (Dana), of Three Forks, Mont., Darla Lentz (Terry), of Missoula, Mont., Dixie Lentz (Bob), of Missoula, Mont., and Doug, of
Spokane, Wash. She is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is survived by a sister, Beverly Whetzel and brothers Jerry Moran and Darrell Moran.
