Glasgow Stockyards Report

The market report for the Glasgow Stockyards as of May 11 shows 622 cattle sold with cows and bulls steady. Utility and commercial cows brought in $90 to $101; canner and cutter cows $80 to $90; young feeding/turnout cows $100 to $165.50; bulls $110 to $123 and first calf heifer pairs $2,600 to $3,250.

Koenig Ranch 14th Annual Production Auction, hosted by Francis and Arley Koenig, of Winnett, Mont., was held. Forty-one two-year-old Red Angus bulls sold for an average of $4,683; with the top bull selling for $8,000 and the top 10 average was $6,075.

Volume buyer was Lee and Glenda Dix, of Glasgow, with six bulls.

A total of 30 registered heifer calves sold for an average of $2,367 and the top six heifers averaged $3,000.

Lots 46-47-48-49-50-51, all sired by KPR Make A Mill sold to Glenna Finkbeiner, of Grass Range.

Lot 10 KRP Oly-A Doubloon 1872 sired by KRP Oly T’s Answer and out of a Holy Moly dam, sold to Lee and Glenda Dix, of Glasgow, for $8,000.

Lot 20 KRP EPIC Hi Doc 1629 sired by KRP EPIC Wander and out of a DOC/Brilliant Lite dam sold to Keller Sandy Creek Ranch, of Big Sandy, for $6,750.

Lot 8 KRP Oly-A-Maker 1846 sired by KRP Ony T’s Answer and out of a Kanyon Maker Dam sold to Lee and Glenda Dix, of Glasgow, for $6,250.

Koenig Ranch steer calves: 38 Red Angus steers 578# $285 (1,647.30/HD).

21 Red Angus Steers 529# $297 ($1571.31/HD)

Thursday, May 18 is the All Class Cattle Auction starting at 9:30 a.m.

1 p.m. Specials include 38 black 1st calf heifer pairs and two three-year-old BWF pair. Calves are March 1 through April 26 born, tagged to match.

Calves have had multi Min and Alpha 7. Not worked. Cows have been on Fall Shot and Pour on Schedule all 1 iron.

Thursday, May 25 is the All Class Cattle Auction starting at 9:30 a.m.

1 p.m. Specials include 40 black five-six-seven year old (age dispersion) cows with Debruycker sired black nose Char. Cross calves at side.

Calves have had C&D at birth. April and May calves. Tagged to Match. Calves are not worked.

Thursday, June 1, is the Cow/Calf Pair Special and All Class Cattle Auction.

Friday, June 2 is the catalog deadline for first Northern Video Auction of the Season. With the outstanding markets, the first June feeder sale might be the way to go!

Saturday, June 3, is the Glen and Stephanie Meier Farm and Ranch Retirement Auction. Very clean, well kept line of machinery.
