Local Youth Lands Leading Role In Fort Peck Summer Theatre Production

Introducing McKay Yoakam as Matilda

Fort Peck Summer Theatre is proud to announce that the leading role in Matilda will be played by McKay Yoakam.

Winner of nearly 50 international awards and based on the beloved novel by fantastical genius Roald Dahl (Willy Wonka), this captivating modern masterpiece follows young Matilda. Surrounded by larger-than-life characters, her powerful imagination transforms into magical powers and inspirational dreams as she searches for a better life.

Age / Grade: 9, Third grade

What do you want to be when you grow up? Doctor or Teacher

What are you most excited for, and nervous about, taking on such a major role? I'm most nervous about learning all of the lines, but I'm more excited about just being in the theatre and on stage!

How are you similar to your character, Matilda? I love to read and sing like Matilda, but my family is a lot nicer.

Don't miss McKay and over two dozen local youth actors in this summer's production. Matilda runs July 7 through July 23: Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 4 p.m.
