Glasgow Stockyards Market Report

The market report for the Glasgow Stockyards as of April 27, show 735 cattle sold. Cows and bulls steady to higher on good high yielding kind. Utility and commercial cows brought in $95 to $108.50; canner and cutter cows $82 to $95; young feeding/turnout cows $120 to $186. Bulls brought in $109 to $130.50; three-year-old cow/calf pairs $3,125; and six-seven year old cow/calf pairs $2,700.

North Bench Angus Ranch held their Angus Bull Production Auction, hosted by the Doug and Jody Mason Family, out of Richland.

A total of 37 bulls were sold with an average of $5,144. The top bull was $8,000 and the top 10 average was $6,625. Volume buyers included Bernis Taylor, of Wolf Point, and Terry Traeger, of Bainville, with four bulls each.

Lot 2238 North Bench Hickok sired by Mill Bar Hickok sold to Kaare Gaustad, of Scobey, for $8,000.

Lot 2290 North Bench Payweight sired by Basin Payweight sold to Doretta Rush, of Wolf Point, for $7,500.

Lot 2327 North Bench Stunner sired by DCC Stunner sold to Daryl Waarvik, of Glasgow, for $7,250.

Thursday, May 4 is the Nelson Simmental/Simmental Angus Bull Production Auction with 24 Red and 24 Black Simmental Composite bulls and Going to Grass All Cattle Auction.

Thursday, May 10, is the Koenig Red Angus Bull and Female Production, Cow/Calf Special and All Class Cattle Auction. Koenig Red Angus will sell 40 two-year-old Red Angus breeding bulls, 30 Bangs Vaccinated Red Angus replacement heifers and 65 Red Angus steer calves. Also consigned is 18 Red Angus first calf heifer pairs.

Thursday, May 18 and May 25 are the All Class Cattle Auctions.
