Recycling products has been on our Country’s agenda for some years now but does anyone remember when recycling of some items were specifically prohibited?

I just ran into an old bottle (yes, I will admit that it appears to be a vintage “Spirits” bottle). Molded into the glass is a warning stating that FEDERAL LAW FORBIDS SALE OR REUSE OF THIS BOTTLE.

How our world does change. Do you think this might have been during Prohibition days?
