Glasgow Stockyards Market Report

The market report for the Glasgow Stockyards as of April 20, show 340 cattle sold. Utility and commercial cows brought in $95 to $105.50; canner and cutter cows $83 to $95; young feeding/turnout cows $111 to $178.50; and bulls $106 to $113.50. Bangs vaccinated heifer calves brought in $1,410 to $1,550 per head.

Big Dry Angus Ranch, of Jordan, Mont., hosted by Brent and Jack McRae families held their 35th Annual Angus Production Auction. A total of 75 Angus bulls were sold at an average cost of $6,287. The top bull sold for $13,750 and the top 10 average was $8,875.

Lot 64, Big Dry Head Start K79 sired by S Jump Start went to Whistling Winds Angus, of Hingham, Mont. for $13,750.

Lot 13, Big Dry Tahoe K-17 sired by Tehama Tahoe sold to Hilltop Angus, of Denton, Mont., for 10,000.

Lot 46, Big Dry McLintock K53, sired by S McLintock sold to Monty Lesh, of Miles, City, Mont., for $9,500.

Lot 8 sold to Duckworth Ranch, of Saskatchewan, for $8,000.

Lot 10 sold to Joe Vassau, of Forsyth, for $8,000.

Lot 11 sold to Duckworth Ranch, of Saskatchewan for $8,000

Lot 21 sold to WM. Griffel, of Park City, for $8,000

Lot 78 sold to Duckworth Ranch, of Saskatchewan for $8,000.

A total of 20 registered Angus replacement heifers sold for an average of $2,458.

The top heifer sold for $3,200 to Eayrs Angus, of Fallon, Mont.

The volume bull buyers were Newell Holverson, of Jordan, and Duckworth Ranch, of Courvall, Saskatchewan, with six bulls each.

The volume heifer buyer was William Griffel/Griffel Angus, of Park City, with 12 heifers.

The Montana Stockgrowers Association Rollover Auction to support BLM Litigation Fund, hosted by Glasgow Stockyards with the heifer donated by Big Dry Angus. The auction raised $20,100.

Thursday, April 27, is the North Country Angus Bull Production Auction and All-Class Cattle Auction.

Thursday, May 4 is the Nelson Simmental/Simmental Angus Pull Production Auction and Going to Grass All Cattle Auction.

Thursday, May 10, is the Koenig Red Angus Bull and Female Production, Cow/Calf Special and All Class Cattle Auction.
