Class C Track And Field Compete at Northeast Track Invitational

Nashua, Hinsdale, Frazer and Lustre Christian, in addition to Opheim’s Carrie Taylor, Bo Anderson and James Landles of the Scobey-Opheim Co-op, traveled to compete in the Northeast Track Invitational at Wolf Point High School this past Saturday, April 15.

On the women side, Scobey took first place with 146 points, followed by sixth-place Nashua with 30 points, Hinsdale taking the eighth place spot with 20 points and Frazer taking the 12th place spot with three points.

Taylor placed in the field side of the competition, placing sixth in the shot put with 30-02.00 a PR for the season, fifth in the discus with 86-00 and third in the javelin with 116-02.

Nashua’s Madison Harris placed third in the 200 Meters with a time of 29.84a. For another week Tia Dees placed for shotput, taking third place with 32-06.00 and then second in the discus with 96-01.

On the mens side, Lustre Christian took first place with 108 points, followed by Plentywood with 95.5 and Wolf Point with 83, rounding out the top three teams of the meet. Scobey took fourth place with 72 points. Nashua took eighth place with 2 points and Frazer took 14th place with 1.5 points.

Lustre Christian dominated the first place standings in a number of different events, including the 200 meters with Jasiah Hambira with a personal record of 23.91, and Johnslee Pierre in the 300m hurdles with a personal record of 44.32a. The 4x100 relay, comprised of Braden Ewing, Pierre, Terran Joseph and Hambira, also took first with a time of 46.32. Hambira also saw a first place finish in the high jump with a 6-02.00 and a 44-01.00 in the triple jump.

Nashua also saw a few top place finishes with Grady Nielsen placing third in the shot put with a 39-08.50 and Xander Pugh achieving first in the long jump with a 20-00.75.

Opheim’s Landles placed fourth in the 100m hurdles with 20.80a and sixth in the 300m hurdles with a 51.79a. He was also part of the 4x100 Relay team which took fourth with a time of 48.91.

Opheim’s Anderson also competed in the 100 meters, placing 12th and placing fourth in both the long jump and the triple jump.

Though the men’s Hindale team did not place, Linden Holt, Jaydeen Hanshew, Coy Bowman represented the school well with their hard work and dedication.
