GHS STUCO Dedicates Deployed Graduates In Halls

The Glasgow High School Student Council recently dedicated their display of Glasgow High School graduates deployed overseas to the memory of Staff Sgt. Aaron N. Holleyman

Staff Sgt. Holleyman was a Special Forces medical sergeant assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, who passed away Aug. 30, 2004, near Khutayiah, Iraq. A 1996 graduate of Glasgow High School, Holleyman was a quiet student with a soft southern accent who participated on both the football and baseball teams.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal and the Army Good Conduct Medal, among many others.

He loved what he was doing, it was close to his heart. He is and always will be a true hero.

Currently the three students posted in the gallery in the high school hallway are back stateside, so the Glasgow High School Student Council are looking for others that are stationed outside of the United States to honor.

If you know of a Glasgow High School graduate that is currently stationed overseas, please contact Rod Karst at the high school with their name, year of graduation and current location. Please include a picture of the graduate and they will proudly display their picture as long as they are overseas. Karst can be contacted at [email protected].
