Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Myron Beck

On Saturday, March 4, 2023, Myron Dean Beck passed away peacefully with his two daughters by his side in Lodi, Calif.

Myron's wishes were not to have a service. He wanted for those survived by him to enjoy the memories of the good times with him until we see him again in heaven. Myron will be going back home to be laid to rest in Montana.

He was born on May 10, 1944, to Orvin and Yvonne Beck in Florida. He was the eldest of five children. As a young boy, the family moved to Fort Peck, Mont. He loved to be outdoors, hunting, fishing, and playing. In 1962, Myron graduated high school from Glasgow, Mont. He continued his education at Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont., then went on to graduate college from Rocky Mountain University in Billings, Mont.

While residing in Billings, Myron married Patricia (Patty) Bertsch, of Baker Mont. They had his first daughter, Stacy in 1968. After graduating from college, he worked for Goodyear Tire as the store manager. The family relocated to California for Myron to open new Goodyear Tire stores. First, they lived in Yuba City, Calif. There, they had his second daughter, Kari, in 1971. The family then moved to Lodi, Calif. Myron and Patty later divorced, but continued to work together to raise the girls.

After working for Goodyear Tire, Myron started working at C.G Gall & Co, in food sales, which became his lifelong career. Weekly, he met with each of his customers at their restaurants locally to ensure they had their needed food and supplies. These various restaurants extended to Oakdale, Modesto, Manteca, Stockton, and Lodi. He met many different people, whom some became lifelong friends.

Myron was in many bowling leagues over the years. One of his favorite pastimes was having the grandkids over, cooking their favorite foods, and making sure they had Otter Pops. He enjoyed camping, barbecuing with his family, and watching sports, especially football. He had many football bets going each season. This tradition started with his dad then carried on with other family members. One of the most important things to him was to call his mom every Sunday. Even when he started to get sick, if he by chance missed Sunday, he would call as soon as possible to let her know he loved her.

In 2004, he met Marion Favia in which they spent many wonderful years together. Part of those years were raising Anthony. They enjoyed attending the First Baptist Church, having family over for a BBQ, and sitting outside on their backyard patio.

Myron was preceded in death by his brother Jan Beck; father Orvin Beck; wife Joyce Beck; and brother-in-law, Bud Revious.

He is survived by Marion Favia, of Lodi; two daughters, Stacy Mullins and her husband Daniel, of Linden, and Kari Hendon and her husband Danny, of Linden; mother Yvonne Beck, of Helena, Mont .; grandchildren DJ Mullins, of Linden, Diedra Mullins, of Lodi, Darian Codog and her husband Benjamin III, of Linden, Tyler Hendon, of Oakdale, and Anthony Houghtaling and his wife Hailey, of Pennsylvania; three sisters, Vivienne Herron and Karen Revious, both of Helena; and Janet Nelson and her husband Dick, of Horseshoe, Texas; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; friends, Garyand Sharon Hannah, of Acampo; and first wife, Patricia Beck, of Lockeford, Calif.
