Bantam Ice Dawgs Tie, Beat Great Falls

Glasgow’s Bantam Ice Dawgs hosted the Great Falls Americans this past weekend for a double header. Game one ended in a 4-4 tie but Glasgow fought back in game two to win 7-6.

Brody Hansen started the scoring action 6:10 into game one on Friday but Great Falls answered before the period ended. Hansen struck first and last in the second period but the Americans scored three times between those goals for a 4-3 lead going into the final period. Hansen tied the game 12:45 into the third and the score stood for the remainder of the game.

Glasgow was called for two penalties, with Hansen serving two separate interference calls in the second. Great Falls had one penalty, also in the second period.

Jacob Potter stopped 33 shots on his net for an 89.2 save percentage while Glasgow’s offense put 32 total shots on the Americans’ goalie.

Hansen kicked off the scoring action again on Saturday, netting the first two of the game before Great Falls answered. Hansen put the Dawgs up 3-1 with an assist from Landon Honey, before Honey scored his goal with help from Carter Holte. Great Falls scored twice more before the buzzer making the score 4-3, advantage Dawgs.

Hansen, with help from Halle Hunter, scored 2:56 into the second before Ellery Dedobblear hit a power play goal with an assist from Hudson Honey. The Americans put two pucks past Ira Moore, in goal for Glasgow, before intermission. Glasgow led 6-5 heading into the third.

Hansen scored 9:47 into the final period with Great Falls answering several minutes later. The Americans would get no more pucks past Moore, giving Glasgow the win.

Great Falls was called for five penalties while Glasgow held their infractions to three. Hansen served a hooking and an interference call in the first while Gryffen Collins sat for unsportsmanlike conduct in the second.

Moore stopped 32 shots for an 84.2 save percentage the Dawgs put 39 pucks on the Americans’ netminder.

The Bantams are home again this weekend, hosting the Billings Bulls. The teams face off at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, and at 8 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 19. The High School Ice Dawgs host the Helena Bighorns with games at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, for Senior Night and 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 19. The PeeWee Ice Dawgs play Miles City at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Valley Event Center.
