The Glasgow Ice Dawgs dropped their two games against the top team in the league, the Miles City Generals, this past weekend on home ice. Miles City added an insurance goal in the second period, where they took control of the puck and put up 15 shots to Glasgow's seven.
After the intermission, Trevor Dulaney cut into the Generals' lead with an even strength goal with 10:17 remaining in the game. The Dawgs put 21 shots on Charlie Lang, between the pipes for the Generals, in the first period while holding Miles City to 11 shots on goal. Glasgow outshot the visitors 11-10 in the second, but it was the Generals who found ways around the Dawgs' goalie.
Miles City struck once in the first, at 5:13, and twice in the second period, with 4:05 and 1:35 to go before intermission. Both second period goals came on the man-advantage with Hansen in the box for unsportsmanlike conduct on the first and roughing on the second Miles City PPG.
Glasgow was only outshot in the third period, 18-11, but in the final 17 minutes of play both netminders turned in flawless performances.
The Generals held their penalties to two, serving all four minutes while shutting down Glasgow's power plays. The Dawgs had 12 minutes in the box on six calls, giving up two power play goals, both in the second period.
