Highlanders Win Season Opener in Miles City

For the Courier

From Jan. 17

What a start to the 2023 Glasgow Wrestling Club season! Our Highlanders scored 191.5 points to win the Medium Team Title at the Miles City Invitational on Sunday. The event featured wrestlers from 17 different clubs.

We were the fifth-largest team at the event. We sent 44 grapplers and at the end of the day, GWC had crowned 10 Individual Champions and 28 top-three finishers. The coaches are very happy with our progress in just three practices.

This weekend we will be splitting up. Locally, we have the Wolf Point Invitational on Saturday, while many of our most experienced wrestlers will head to Casper, Wyoming to compete in the Wild West Championships.
