The Bantam Ice Dawgs took two off the Miles City Generals in a pair of home games this past weekend. The Dawgs downed the Generals 10-1 Friday night and followed it with a 6-1 victory Saturday.
Glasgow shut out Miles City in the first and second periods while scoring five and three goals in those periods.
Jack Miller hit first for Glasgow, assisted by Hudson Honey, with 14:09 on the clock. Brody Hansen doubled the Dawgs lead 59 seconds later and took Glasgow to 3-0 50 seconds after that short-handed. Landon Honey, assist Hansen, made it 4-0 with 9:43 remaining in the first. Hansen, assist Reilly Llewellyn, scored again with 7:25 left on the clock on another Miles City man advantage.
L. Honey kicked it off for the Dawgs in the second, scoring with 7:50 to go before intermission. Hansen finished the period with two more goals: a PPG with an assist from Jacob Potter and another shortie with 14 seconds on the clock.
H. Honey scored first in the third period, netting a fourth short-handed goal for the Dawgs. The Generals fired a puck past Dawgs' goalie Potter less than a minute later but Hansen finished the game with one last goal for Glasgow with 2:23 left on the clock.
Potter had a 95.2 save percentage, turning away 20 of 21 Generals' attempts on his net. Glasgow fired 41 pucks at Miles City's netminder.
Both teams kept the officials busy with Miles City drawing nine whistles and Glasgow serving time on eight penalties.
Halle Hunter, roughing, and Hansen, elbowing, sat in the first period. Hunter served time for elbowing in the second while Gryffen Collins drew a 1:30-and-8 for checking from behind and misconduct in the same period. Hansen, L. Honey and Collins each served time for roughing in the third.
Saturday, Glasgow again gave up a single goal, allowing Miles City to score in the second period. The Generals' goal cut Glasgow's lead in half. The Dawgs' had a goal from Hansen in the first and again in the second, assist Hunter Negus, before Miles City put a puck past Potter.
Glasgow answered with two more goals before intermission. Hansen, assist Carter Holte, and L. Honey, assist Hunter, scored before the buzzer with L. Honey's coming on the man advantage.
Hansen also hit a power play goal, assist L. Honey, with 2:31 left to play. Hunter, assist Negus, scored with 46 seconds left in the game.
The Dawgs fired 42 pucks at the Generals' goalie while Potter turned away 39 shots on his net for a 97.4 save percentage.
Both teams again kept the officials busy with Glasgow serving time on seven penalties and Miles City drawing eight whistles.
Collins, hooking, and Hansen, interference, each served 1:30 in the first while Hunter was called for a 1:30-and-8 on a boarding and misconduct call. Collins, tripping, and Hansen, roughing served time in the second while Collins took another trip to the sin bin in the third for cross-checking.
The Bantams return to action Saturday, Jan. 21, and Sunday, Jan. 22, in Helena. They play the Bighorns at 4 p.m. Jan 21 and at 7 a.m. Jan. 22.
