Opheim Students and Staff Recognized by VFW

Opheim School would like to extend a huge congratulations to Mrs. Nicole Taylor, Carrie Taylor (senior), and Billy Still (eighth-grader) for their recent award winning essays and recognition as the VFW Teacher of the Year.

Mrs. Nicole Taylor was nominated as the VFW Teacher of Year and has been recognized as the winner for the VFW Post, District, and State. She will be competing in the National competition.

Congratulations to Mrs. Taylor for all of her continued dedication and hard work to put students and learning at the highest level. We are so honored to have such an excellent teacher here at Opheim School.

Carrie Taylor’s essay for the Voice of Democracy was chosen as the VFW post and District winner.

We would like to say congratulations on a job well done and thank you for representing Opheim School.

Billy Still’s essay for the Patriot’s Pen was also chosen as the VFW post and District winner and we would like to extend congratulations to him as well.

These are amazing accomplishments and we are so excited to be able to call them our own.

Presentations of awards will be held sometime in February or March at the school by the VFW post.

We look forward to honoring all three of these individuals for their outstanding accomplishments
