Bridger Barnett (left) and Bode Barnett swapped roles during the annual Ice Dawgs Alumni game Dec. 31. Bridger, who serves as an official for Montana Amateur Hockey Association, traded in his stripes for a San Jose Sharks sweater to play while Bode took up the whistle to officiate. Bridger had officiated the Ice Dawgs' games against the Butte Copper City Kings the night prior and that morning before the game. Bode found far less use for his whistle in the Alumni game than Bridger did in the Dawgs games against their rivals.
In what has beceome a New Year's Eve tradtion, veterans of the Glasgow Ice Dawgs hockey program gathered at the Valley Event Center to lace up the skates and see if they've still got it. A wild game proved they still do - at least the ability to chirp and make it through three periods of action without the need for medical attention.
