Nashua Girls 0-2 For the Weekend

The Nashua girls basketball team dropped their games this past weekend. The Porcupines fell to the North Country Mavericks 61-11 in Hinsdale Dec. 15 then lost 33-23 to the Lustre Christian Lions on the road the following night.

The Porcupines found themselves trailing by 3 points at the end of the first quarter in Lustre, 9-6, and down by 6 points at the half, 17-11. Nashua outscored Lustre 6-4 in the third but the Lions outdid the Porcupines 10-6 in the final eight minutes.

Tia Dees led in scoring with 11 points while Kaitlyn Miller added 6 points. Guinevere Abern connected for 3 with a free throw, Alexis Murdock hit a field goal and Madison Harris added one from the charity stripe.

Nashua had 17 fouls, seven in the second half. Dees fouled out of the game while Gracyn Sibley and Miller had four fouls each. Abern was called for two while Katy Dykstra and Harris drew one whistle each.

Nashua hosted the Dodson Coyotes Dec. 20 for Little Porcupine Night but it will be rescheduled due to weather.The Porcupines will next hit the court Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, when they host the Frazer Bearcubs with the girls varsity game at 5:30 p.m. followed by the boys varsity at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, Nashua welcomes Brockton for a 4 p.m. varsity girls tip-off and a 5:30 p.m. boys varsity game.
