Frazer Boys 0-2 in Billings

Frazer’s boys basketball team opened their 2022-23 season at the Lockwood Tip Off Tournament in Billings. The Bearcubs dropped both games, losing 61-16 to Park City Friday before falling 62-35 to Bridger Saturday.

Park City racked up 22 points in the first quarter while shutting Frazer out. The Bearcubs found some offense in the second but still trailed 38-7 at the half. Frazer doubled their score in the third quarter but Park City carried a 54-14 lead into the final quarter where they outscored Frazer 7-2.

Travis Long scored 8 points for the Bearcubs including two shots from downtown. Joseph Beston added 5 with a trey. Jarvis Goodbird scored a bucket and Ty Fourstar added a free throw.

Park City was called for only four fouls in the game, all in the second half, while Frazer had eight infractions, five in the second half. Fourstar and Long were called for two each while Goodbird, Chris Fox, Beston and Zayden Hentges had one foul a piece.

The Bearcubs found more offense Saturday but were still overpowered by Bridger, who went up 25-5 after one quarter. Frazer was outscored 13-8 in the second and 16-14 in the third quarter, giving Bridger a 54-27 lead heading into the final quarter. Both teams put up 8 points in the final quarter.

Fourstar poured in 16 points for Frazer, including four shots from beyond the arc. Long drained four treys as well for 12 points. Beston hit a three-pointer and a field goal for 5 and Hentges added 2 points.

Bridger had four infractions in the game while Frazer was called for 12 fouls. Long and Beston were each called for four fouls and Goodbird drew three whistles. Fox was called for one infraction.

Frazer plays in Savage Friday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m. game. Tuesday, Dec. 20, they host the Scobey Spartans for a 7 p.m. tip off.
