First Lutheran Church Assists Valley Food Bank

With Thanksgiving approaching, the Northland Region Thrivent Member Network challenged community members from church members, Sunday school, youth group, coworkers, neighbors, civic group, schools, etc., to make a difference by collecting food for the local food shelf.

First Lutheran Church members and youth took on the challenge and collected over 500 food bank items through the program, which resulted in the Valley County Emergency Food Bank not only receiving the donations but was also eligible to receive a $500 check from Thrivent.

As a result of the hard work in the drive, Thrivent will actually be doubling the amount donated to the Valley County Emergency Food bank to $1,000.
