Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
The 18th Annual Festival of Trees was held on Nov. 18 and 19 at the Glasgow Elks Lodge. A total of 48 trees, wreaths and holiday décor, designed by a wide range of community members, were available for the Friday night auction with all proceeds going towards the Valley County H.O.P.E. (Helping Others Pay Expenses) Project. Though no total was finalized by press time, co-coordinator of the event Rod Karst stated the auction had a good turnout.
Those who were able to view the displays on Saturday had the option to choose a People's Choice Tree and People's Choice Non-Tree. At the end of the event, the Non-Tree People's Choice winner went to Ed and Sally Stein and Olivia and Buddy Jackson for their Shutter Soldiers. The tree's People's Choice winner was Taylor Storage with their Santa's Sweet Shop themed tree. Each group of winners won $50 in Glasgow Chamber Big Bucks.
Upcoming events for the Valley County H.O.P.E. Project include Skate For A Cure which will occur in March and Cuisine for A Cure which will occur in April.
