Two Local Events Raise Funds For VALCO

Eleven motorcycle riders braved the fall weather on Oct. 15 to help raise funds for the Valley County Community Pool Campaign with a motorcycle poker ride. The ride started at Sam and Jeffs where the riders were treated to breakfast burritos before traveling to Park Grove, the Marina and then the Gateway where Chef Dave provided the riders with a free will offering Hot Dog Bar.

At the end of the tour, Chris Helland and Jeff Knodel won the Poker Hand, which amounted to $240, which was also donated back to the campaign.

According the Campaign, a total of $575 was donated towards the cause as a result of this event.

Earlier this month Blend 10 also raised $347 during their first anniversary celebration on Oct. 1, then matched the funds making the total $700 given to the campaign. They decided to give back to Valley County Community Pool Campaign as the cause is important to them. They believe it would be a great upgrade for the community since so many kids utilize the pool over the summer months.
