Bearcubs Host 53rd Annual Frazer Invitational

The Bearcubs hosted their 53rd Annual Frazer Invitational Oct. 4 and traveled to Malta on Saturday for their penultimate regular season cross country meet. Three members of the boys team set personal records at their home meet: Cassius Smoker, Ty Fourstar and Christopher Fox.

Smoker led the boys squad with his best time of 23:38.19 for a 34th place finish. Fourstar was right behind him in 35th with his new record time of 23:50.22. Fox's personal best of 30:58.15 put him in 43rd place. Joseph Beston took 44th place with a time of 32:33.80.

Alyssa Toce Blount led the Frazer girls with her 19th place finish. She ran a 25:41.06. Angel Nelligan ran the race in 27:42.89 for 30th place. Isabelle Even was on her heels, taking 31st with a time of 27:44.84. Kalianna Toce Blount earned 42nd place with a time of 30:52.80.

Monroe Smoker took 31st in the boys Middle School event with a time of 14:21.34. Macie Fourstar-Sibley led the Bearcubs middle school girls team in 47th place with a time of 15:42. 04. Lola Romero took 48th at 15:59.89 while Katherine Roundface finished in 53rd place at 18:02.08.

Younger Bearcubs competed in the elementary race but results were unavailable.

Smoker also led the boys team in Malta. He placed 38th with a time of 28:01.23. Fox ran a 31:38.88 for 40th place followed by Beston in 41st with a time of 32:31.80.

Shakira Beston led the Bearcub girls with a 25th place finish. She ran a 27:07.49. Nelligan and Even battled for 30th and 31st position with Nelligan just edging her teammate, 29:13.12 to 29:13.21. K. Toce Blount finished in 35th place with her time of 30:53.20.

Frazer's final regular season meet will be the Harlem Invitational Friday, Oct. 14. The boys race is scheduled for 10 a.m. followed by the girls race at 10:45 a.m.
