Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
Dale Robert Squires left this earth unexpectedly on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, after a tragic accident. Born on Dec. 20, 1962, at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, Mont., Dale enjoyed early life on the Hi-Line. He briefly played hockey, but it was another sport that called to him.
Dale first learned the game of golf with his mother, Helen Squires, his father, Leon Squires, and his big brother, Gary Squires. He was proud to play for the Glasgow Scotties varsity golf team. These precious moments instilled a love of the game that never left.
After graduating from Glasgow High School, Dale received a bachelors degree from the University of Montana in 1985, and went on to become a licensed CPA. After a few years working in Washington state, Dale returned to Montana and, since 2003, worked for and now leaves Rocky Mountain Health Network in Billings as a director of finance.
In his life, Dale found balance between work and play. Through the years, he made two holes in one, won club championships at Sunnyside Golf & Country Club in Glasgow and Lake Hills Golf Club in Billings, and loved playing with the skins group. He made friends there to last a lifetime and beyond. He also found many more lasting friends with the Beartooth Harley Owners Group and enjoyed riding his Harley with the love of his life, Carrie Swanson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lisle and Cecil Squires and Walter and Frances Newton; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dale leaves behind his mother, Helen Squires; father, Leon Squires; brother, Gary Squires (Dawn); his love, Carrie Swanson; numerous uncles, cousins, and one nephew.
A memorial service was held Monday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m., at Smith Funeral Chapel, 304 34th Street West in Billings, with a reception following at Lake Hills Golf Club, 1930 Clubhouse Way.
Dale, you left us far too soon. We will never forget all the memories, the laughs and the love you left with us.
