Glasgow Volleyball 1-1 in Conference Play 2-3 Overall

Glasgow's volleyball record stands at 1-1 in conference play, 2-3 overall, after this past week's play with losses to Fairview and Plentywood followed by a win in Poplar.

The Scotties fell to the Warriors at home Sept. 15 16-25, 25-23, 21-25, 20-25. Fairview led in all stats categories except digs where Glasgow put up 48 to Fairview's 30. The Warriors posted 13 aces to the Scotties 6, 23 kills to 22, 22 assists to 18, and 22 blocks to 6.

Carly Nelson led Glasgow in aces, kills and digs with 3, 7 and 15 respectively. Daley Aune had 15 of the team's 18 assists and Ava Lloyd had 5 blocks.

The Scottie JV team also lost their match 13-25, 16-25, 12-15.

Sept. 16 the Scotties played the Plentywood Wildcats, losing the match in five: 25-12, 15-22, 14-25, 18-15, 13-15.

Glasgow led both teams in digs with 78 to Plentywood's 66, and in blocks with 14 to 6. The Wildcats outpaced the Scotties in all other categories. Plentywood had 10 aces to Glasgow's 9, 58 kills to 27, and 43 assists to 21.

Joely Chappell led the Scotties in aces with 3. Nelson put up 9 kills while Aune had 17 assists. Lloyd again led in blocks with 5 and Samantha Tryan put up 28 digs.

Glasgow's JV team won their match in three: 26-24, 25-21, 15-10.

The Scotties put themselves back on the winning track Sept. 17 with a sweep of the Poplar Indians 25-18, 25-21, 25-7.

As a team the Scotties had 13 aces, 24 kills, 18 assists, 12 blocks and 21 digs. Aune led in aces with 5 and assists with 13. Nelson had 11 kills. Piper Johnson and Lloyd had 5 blocks a piece and Tryan had I digs.

The JV team won their match in five: 25-20, 20-25, 15-11, 13-15, 16-14. The C squad swept their match 25-20, 25-17, 20-18.

Glasgow will be in Wolf Point Thursday, Sept. 22, for C squad, JV and varsity games beginning at 4:30 p.m.

The Scottie varsity team will attend the Dickinson Invitational in North Dakota Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23 and 24. Glasgow will start the tournament in pool play with games against Baker at 2 p.m., against Glen Ullin/Hebron at 4:30 p.m. and Watford City at 7 p.m., all Mountain Time, at Dickinson High School.
