Valley County 4-H Council Awarded Rural Community Grant From Northwest Farm Credit Services

Northwest Farm Credit Services is proud to award Valley County 4-H Council with a $2,500 Rural Community Grant.

"It is with great appreciation that the Valley County 4-H Council accepts the Northwest Farm Credit grant in the amount of $2,500," said MSU Extension 4-H Agent Roubie Younkin. "Grant funds will be used to install an underground sprinkler system in the livestock show ring at the Valley County Fairgrounds. The current show ring is maintained by the Valley County Fair Board and 4-H youth and volunteers. Recent drought conditions have made keeping the grass healthy a challenge. Our hope is that regular and timely irrigation will enhance the condition of the grass as well as provide a safe facility for 4-H and FFA youth to exhibit their projects."

Northwest FCS is committed to helping rural communities succeed. Since the program's inception in 2007, it has awarded 1,705 grants totaling more than $3.4 million.

The Rural Community Grant Program provides funds to non-profit organizations for projects that improve a community's infrastructure, viability and/or prosperity.
