Gianforte First Sitting Governor to Compete in Tournament

The Governor's Cup may not have ended up in the hands of the governor, but Montana's Greg Gianforte did become the first sitting governor to ever fish the legendary Fort Peck tournament this past weekend. "I'd like to have caught some bigger fish, but Susan and I enjoyed joining anglers, and their families, for some good fishing, good food, and even better company," Gov. Gianforte said. "It was a privilege to take part in such a special Montana tradition and put the governor back in the Governor's Cup. There's nothing better than spending quality time with folks catching some fish and enjoying our unmatched outdoor heritage," he told the Courier.
