Craig Gilchrist (r) and Lorrie Sampson (l) were the train experts on May 26 as Mrs. Klind's kindergarten class stopped by the Great Northern Railway caboose at the Pioneer Museum. Gilchrist and Sampson provided the history on the caboose as well as gave train safety tips prior to the tour. As the school year winded down for most northeast Montana schools, Gilchrist and Sampson provided a number of these tours to various out-of-area schools as well. Sampson and Gilchrist, who are both retired BNSF employees, volunteered their time in providing these tours for the students. "If we can pass along our education to at least one child, and have them be safe around railways, then our job is complete," stated Sampson.
