Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
Harriet Louise (Rennick) Keough, 83, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022, in Lewistown, Mont.
A private graveside service will be held in June at the Highland Cemetery in Havre, Mont., where Harriet will rest next to her husband Roy.
She was born in Hinsdale, Mont., on Aug. 12, 1938, to Harry and Elsie (Keeney) Rennick. Harriet graduated from Glasgow High School, Glasgow, Mont. Her parents owned and operated the Coleman Hotel in Glasgow and she shared memories of the many beds she made while working and helping them.
Right out of high school, Harriet married the love of her life, Roy Lee Keough, on Sept. 17, 1955. They moved to Havre and had three children, Leroy, Gwenda, and Tommy. Harriet worked at the Havre Laundry, ran a home cleaning service with a good friend, worked at Pizza Pro and probably her favorite job and where most people knew her from was working at the Hi-Way Grocery Store.
Together, Harriet and Roy loved to travel, go camping and took many trips to Glacier Park. It was motorcycle rides in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. Harriet loved to do crafts of all sorts, working in her yard, and just being outdoors. Her children simply stated, "Mom was a blessing!"
She is preceded in death by her husband Roy Lee Keough; son Tommy Keough; parents Harry and Elsie Rennick; sister Mabel Pagel; and brothers Jerry Rennick, Bob Rennick, Ray Rennick, and Harry Rennick.
Harriet is survived by her children, Leroy Keough and Gwenda (Thomas) Gehlen; grandchildren Carissa (Kyle) Ackaret, Ryan (Cameron) Gehlen and Brittany (Keith) Geary; great-grandchildren Layton Geary, Hailey Geary, Kealey Ackaret and Kaelyn Ackaret; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the care of Creel Funeral Home. Harriet's family and friends can share memories and condolences at http://www.creelfuneralhome.com.
