Health technology pioneer DrFirst announced on May 24 that 5th Avenue Pharmacy, in Glasgow, was awarded the Healthiverse Heroes Award, which honors organizations for using technology in innovative ways to break through the information silos that get in the way of clinical collaboration and patient care. The Pharmacies award was also awarded to Galva Pharmacy in Galva, Ill., in a tie with 5th Avenue Pharmacy.
“5th Avenue Pharmacy and Gift is extremely humbled and grateful in receiving this award. We have enjoyed working with DrFirst and their team in advancing our pharmacy’s AI technology. One of our main goals and focus is to deliver the best possible care to our patients and working with DrFirst has given us an opportunity to enhance that capability. We look forward to our continued working relationship with DrFirst and taking advantage of their future pharmacy AI innovations,” stated pharmacist and manager at 5th Avenue Pharmacy and Gift Greg Page.
Winners were selected based on multiple criteria, including innovative use of technology, level of impact, and effectiveness in breaking through information silos to improve care collaboration, interoperability and patient outcomes. Nominees were judged by DrFirst’s clinical team, led by its chief medical officer and representatives with backgrounds in medicine, nursing, emergency medical services and pharmacy.
