Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
Colette Rae Bell, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
At this time, there is not a funeral or memorial service immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.
She was born on Jan. 3, 1955, in Lewistown, Mont., to Dorman "Scotty" and Mary Bell. She graduated from Nashua High School as valedictorian. She earned her teaching degree at the University of Montana and graduated Magna Cum Laude and went on to earn her masters degree at Pepperdine University.
Colette loved learning. As Cicero said, "A room without books is like a body without a soul." This couldn't be a truer statement for Colette. Books were her world. She could never get enough reading and learning. It was her passion. She had a library of books wherever she went.
Colette's other love was her two dogs, Romulus and Remus. They were considered to be members of her family and she loved them dearly. They went everywhere with her until their passing which left a hole in her heart, but she held onto all of the good memories she had with them.
Collette is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Bell; father Dorman "Scotty" Bell; half-brother Jerry Cockrell; and her husband Ray Gomez Bravo.
Colette is survived by her brother Matt (Vicki); nephews Christopher, Nicholas (Charity), Collin (Lindsay); niece Ashley (Brian); many great nieces and great nephews and one great-great nephew.
We will always carry her memory in our hearts.
