The Hinsdale Raiders hit four separate meets last week, traveling to Rudyard for the Jason Groseclose Memorial, to Glasgow for the Norm Girard North/East Top 10, to Wolf Point for the Gene Nelson Memorial, and back to Glasgow to host the Jean Dreikosen Memorial meet.
On Monday in Rudyard, the Hinsdale girls scored 10 points to tie for eighth place and the boys put up 9 points for 13th place.
Cienna Strommen won the girls' pole vault after clearing season record 7-00.00. She just missed the podium in the discus and javelin, with seventh places in both. Strommen had a personal best 61-09 in the discus and threw 69-07 in the javelin.
Ashton Smith finished 16th in the girls' discus with a 15-06 throw. She took 1th in the shot put with an 8-02.00 toss and 25th in javelin, throwing 15-04.
Austin Miller and Coy Bowman put up points for the Raider boys. Miller took fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:48.30 while Bowman finished fifth in triple jump, 29-04.00, and sixth in high jump, 4-08.00.
Miller also took 10th in the 400 meters at 1:10.40 while Aaron Miller tied for seventh in the 200 meters, 29.70, and placed 18th in the 100 meters, 14.90.
Taylor Mogan took 16th in boys' javelin with an 87-00 throw. He placed 21st in long jump with a distance of 12-07.00. Austin Miller set a personal best at 12-00.00 for 23rd and Aaron Miller placed 26th with a 9-11.00 jump. Mogan set a personal record – and finished in seventh place – of 27-11.50 in the triple jump.
Mattea McColly represented Hinsdale at the Top Ten Meet in Glasgow on Tuesday, having made the cut in the girls' discus as did Zora Holt, who ran the 3200 meters.
McColly finished in third place in discus with a personal record throw of 101-10, an eight-foot improvement over her 93-10 qualifying throw.
Holt took ninth in the 3200 meters with a time of 13:48.14.
Friday in Wolf Point, the Hinsdale girls tied with Lustre Christian for eighth place with 6 points. McColly put up the points with a fourth place in the discus and a fifth place in the shot put. She threw 83-02 in discus and 28-10.00 in shot put. McColly finished 22nd in javelin with a 63-09 throw.
Bowman set a personal record of 13.77 and finished in 18th in the boys' 100 meters. Aaron Miller finished directly behind him with a personal record 13.80 time and 13th in the 200 meters with a personal best 27.55.
Austin Miller finished in eighth place in the 400 meters at 1:08.32 and ninth in the 800 meters at 2:42.80, a personal best. He also finished 12th in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 57.57.
Bowman and Aaron Miller both set personal records in the javelin in Wolf Point. Bowman threw 89-03 and finished 14th while Aaron Miller's 50-06 earned him 30th place.
Bowman also finished seventh in high jump after clearing 4-08. He took 24th in long jump with a leap of 13-08.25. Aaron Miller jumped 12-10.50 for 28th while Austin Miller's personal best 12-06.50 put him in 29th place. Bowman also earned 15th in triple jump with a 30-00.00 distance.
Hinsdale's Jean Dreikosen Memorial Track Meet was called partway through for inclement weather with the girls team sitting in fourth place with 19 points.
Strommen and McColly were the point getters for the Raiders.
Strommen won the girls' javelin with a throw of 65-02 while McColly tied for fourth at 57-00. Smith placed 10th with her 18-04 throw.
McColly threw 92-04 in discus for third place while Strommen set a personal record at 65-05 and finished in 12th. Smith also threw a personal best – 25-11 – and took 24th place.
Holt took seventh in the 800 meters with a personal best 3:01.04 and eighth in the 300 meter hurdles with her time of 1:06.51.
Mogan took 17th in boys' javelin at 86-04 while Bowman finished 20th with a throw of 84-11. Mogan jumped 12-08.00 in the boys' long jump for 21st while Bowman took 24th with his distance of 10-07.50.
The Hinsdale Raiders begin their postseason Saturday, May 14, at the District 2B/3C Track Meet in Glasgow with events beginning at 9 a.m.
