Four Scotties Take Firsts at Glasgow Invitational

The 2022 track season kicked off Friday with the annual Glasgow Invitational Meet as the Scotties played host to 27 schools and 463 competitors. The Scottie boys placed third with 79 points, coming in behind Havre, 107, and Malta, 81. Glasgow's girls team placed fourth with 51 points, behind Plentywood, 96; Savage, 55, and Scobey, 53.

Reed Larsen, 800-meter-run, and Stephen Bailey, pole vault, earned first places for the Scottie boys while Iris McKean, 800 and 1600 meter runs, and Eve Stone, pole vault, earned top slots in the girls competitions.

Bailey set a personal record in the first meet of his senior season, clearing 13-01.00. Stone vaulted 8-06.00 in winning the girls' competition.

Ted Tryan placed second in the boys pole vault after he cleared 12-00.00. Lane Thompson vaulted 9-06.00 and finished in 9th place while Tatum Hansen set a personal record of 7-00.00 and finished in 14th place.

Larsen ran the 800 meters in 2:12.35 while McKean completed her two laps around the track in 2:30.95. She turned in a time of 5:38.82 time to win the 1600 meters.

Bergen Miller set a personal record in the boys' 800 meters with a time of 2:17.92 which earned him 5th place. Kheyerah Bilger finished 12th in the girls' 800 meter run with a time of 3:02.76.

Larsen finished 4th in the boys 1600 meter run with a personal record of 5:09.61. Kyler Holinde finished in 6th place with a time of 5:24.92, followed closely by Lane Thompson in 8th place with a time of 5:27.92. Adam Mickelson ran the race in 6:31.00 for 21st place.

Emily See finished in 7th place in the girls' 1600 meter run with a time of 6:05.27. She finished 3rd in the 3200 meter run, with a time of 13:17.40. Holinde finished third in the boys' 3200 meters with his time of 11:29.40 while Thompson took 7th with a time of 12:11.63.

Blaire Westby earned the Scottie girls points in the sprints, finishing in the top six in both the 100 and 200 meters. She ran the 100 meters in 13.85, finishing in 4th, and finished 5th in the 200 meters with a time of 30.38.

Abigail Kulczyk finished in 33rd place in the girls' 100 meters with a time of 15.93. Ava Lloyd finished 12th in the 200 meters with a time of 32.54 while He'lena Deavila ran the race in 32.82 for a 17th place finish. Deavila placed 7th in the girls' 400 meters with a time of 1:11.10 while Lloyd placed 9th, running the lap in 1:12.73.

Toryn Richards ran the boys' 100 meters in 12.70, a personal record, and finished in 14th place. Rex Monson finished in 31st with his time of 13.16. Nick Solarzano ran a 13.40 and finished in 43rd while Noah Runner ran a 14.10 and placed 56th.

Richards took 12th in the boys' 200 meters with a time of 26.88. Myles Yoakam placed 25th with his time of 28.40. Dillon Hughes ran the race in 30.51 for 37th place.

Kambira Ross represented the Scottie girls in both hurdles competitions. She took 7th in the 100 meter race with a personal record of 19.75 and 18th in the 300 meters with another personal record of 58.88. Hansen placed 2nd in the boys' 300 meter hurdles with a time of 45.99.

Hansen, Larsen, Solarzano and Richards teamed up to run a 48.41 in the boys' 4x100 relay, placing 3rd. Larsen, Thompson, Tryan and Hansen earned a 2nd place in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:57.40, less than half a second out of first place. Tanae Baker, McKean, See and Westby placed 6th in the girls' 4x400 relay with their time of 4:53.24.

Stone placed 36th in girls' shot put with a throw of 22-10.00 while Emma Whitmer threw 21-11.50 and placed 40th. Connor Hudyma placed 24th in boys' shot put with a throw of 33-04.50. Noah Lippert set a personal record of 31.09.00 and finished in 34th place. Yoakam was right behind him in 35th place with a throw of 31-06.50. Monson threw 31-06.50 and finished in 36th. Lex Fairclough took 43rd place with a throw of 29-11.00. Hughes took 56th with a throw of 27-01.11. Mason Swenson set a personal record of 25-06.50 and took 65th place. Josh Llewellyn threw 18-07.50 and took 75th place.

Miller claimed 2nd in boys' discus with a throw of 117-09 while Hudyma took 12th with a throw of 101-02. Fairclough threw 90-11 and took 23rd place. Hughes placed 43rd with a throw of 80-11. Zavier Urbin finished in 48th with a distance of 70-06.

Swenson threw 67-06 for 51st place while Lippert threw 60-04 and finished in 60th place. Llewellyn took 68th with a throw of 49-04. Vaughn Miller placed 72nd with a throw of 12-00.

Whitmer placed 29th in girls' discus with a throw of 60-05. She took 36th in the javelin with a distance of 61-05. Brooklyn Hallock threw 50-11 in the javelin and claimed 45th place.

V. Miller took second in the boys javelin with a personal record of 144-03. Lippert placed 18th with a personal record throw of 110-03. Urbin threw 102-05 for 26th place, followed by Hudyma in 27th with a throw of 100-00. Yoakam took 33rd with a throw of 97-01. Fairclough threw 83-10 and placed 49th. Hughes threw 67-01 and took 71st while Swenson threw 52-08 and took 82nd place.

Stone cleared 4-10.00 to earn points for the Scottie girls in the high jump with a 3rd place finish. The Scottie sophomore took 5th in the triple jump with a distance of 29-04.25. She took 8th place in the long jump with a leap of 13-02.00. Ross finished in 11th place with a long jump of 12-20.00 while Kulczyk took 24th with a leap of 11-01.00.

Solarzano led the Scottie boys in the long jump, placing 9th with a leap of 17-01.50. Richards jumped 17-01.00 and took 10th place. Bailey jumped 15-10.00 and claimed 24th. Runner finished in 32nd with a jump of 15-03.00 and Adam Mickelson placed 39th, jumping 14-00.50.

V. Miller set a personal record of 35-08.00 in the triple jump and tied for 7th place, followed by Bailey in 9th with a jump of 34-11.00. Solarzano jumped 34-04.50 and claimed 11th place. Monson placed 22nd with a leap of 32-04.00 followed by Richards in 23rd place with a jump of 32-01.00.

Glasgow will be on the road this Saturday, April 9, for the Baker Invitational.
