Spring Meeting To Discuss Missouri River Water Management Set For April 11

The spring public meeting to discuss Missouri River Water Management operations and plans is scheduled for Monday, April 11, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Fort Peck Interpretative Center, 157 Yellowstone Rd., Fort Peck.

Public meetings are held each spring and fall across the Missouri River basin. Fall public meetings provide an update on current year’s runoff and reservoir operations as well as planned operations for the next year’s runoff season.

The Annual Operating Plan for the next year’s runoff season is released for public comment in September, presented at the public meetings and finalized at the end of the calendar year. Spring public meetings provide a status of mountain snowpack, a runoff forecast for the year and how operations during the runoff year will meet the authorized purposes for the Missouri River Mainstem System.

For those unable to attend, a meeting recording and meeting materials will be available online at http://www.nwd.usace.army.mil/MRWM/Public-Meetings/ the following week.

Questions and comments can be submitted to the Missouri River Water Management Team, https://www.nwd.usace.army.mil/MRWM/Questions/.
