Christine Gilchrist leads Irle School students during her annual Presidents Day Patriotic Singalong Assembly. Gilchrist teaches every student the Star Spangled Banner and the importance of the National Anthem. Decked out in red, white and blue, Kindergartners through Fifth Grade sang the Star Spangled banner as a whole. Each grade sang a patriotic song and performed for the other classes. At the conclusion of the assembly, Irle School came together to sing the Montana Anthem, the state song. This year she was nominated for, and won, the VFW Montana Teacher of the Year for her yearly patriotic program. Gilchrist's resume was sent to the VFW National Teacher of the Year competition and she is currently waiting to hear who won.
