Scottie Girls Win Two Conference Games To Close Out Regular Season

The Glasgow girls basketball team ended their regular season with two big conference wins over Harlem and Poplar this past weekend. The Scotties downed the Wildcats 56-49 in Harlem on Friday and rolled over the Indians 59-17 Saturday in Poplar.

Glasgow enters the District 2B tournament as the second seed with a 12-6 overall record, 5-3 conference.

The Scotties came from behind in Harlem to win the game with a 20-point fourth quarter. They trailed 13-10, 24-20 and 40-36 in the first three quarters.

Daley Aune poured in 25 points for the Scotties, including the team's only three-pointer. Sabrina Harsh added 15, 10 of which came in the final eight minutes. Carly Nelson scored 8 and Tyann Graham had 4 points. Abrianna Nielsen and Blaire Westby scored 2 points each.

The team was called for 16 fouls. Harsh was called for four, while Westby and Aune had three each. Nielsen, Graham and Nelson had two fouls a piece.

Glasgow's JV team brought home a 44-23 victory after leading 7-6, 16-9 and 31-14 in the first three quarters.

Aspen Stulc, 11, and Macy Martin, 10, hit double-digit scoring for the Scotties. Tatum Nyquist scored 6 while Brielle Partridge, Piper Johnson and Hayden Green each scored 4 points. Tanae Baker and Eve Stone had 2 points each and Stevie Hartwell hit a free throw.

Glasgow had 12 fouls split evenly between the halves. Partridge was called for four and Martin and Johnson had two each. Baker, Riley Evenson-Glasoe, Hartwell and Allie Palm each had one foul.

Glasgow owned the game in Poplar Saturday night from the first quarter, going up 12-4 after one. They led 32-6 at the half and 47-14 after three.

Aune and Harsh each connected for 15 points for Glasgow. Nielsen and Nelson hit for 9 a piece followed by Graham with 7 and Nyquist with 4 points.

Glasgow had 10 fouls, seven in the second half. Nelson was called for four while Nielsen, Graham, Aune, Stulc, Harsh and Hartwell had one each.

The Scottie JV squad overcame a 17-11 first quarter deficit to lead 24-23 at the half. After three they trailed 37-36 but battled hard in the final eight minutes to win 51-45.

Nyquist led the team with 15 points while Stulc added 9 and Partridge 7 points. Hartwell scored 6, Martin and Palm 4 each, and Evenson-Glasoe, Johnson and Green had 2 a piece.

Glasgow was called for 13 fouls, five in the second half. Stulc and Palm had three each. Martin, Evenson-Glasoe and Partridge were called for two a piece and Hartwell had one infraction.

The Glasgow varsity squad enters the post-season this Thursday, Feb. 17, with the District 2B tournament in Glasgow. The Scotties face the Wolf Point Wolves at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
