Nashua Girls Lose Final Two

The Nashua girls basketball team dropped their final two games of the regular season, both at home. The Porcupines fell to the Scobey Spartans 45-24 on Friday and lost 54-27 to the Richey/Lambert Fusion on Saturday.

Nashua held even with Scobey with the score tied at 10 after one but a strong second by Scobey propelled them to a 23-16 lead at the half. After three quarters, Nashua trailed 36-20.

Tia Dees scored 13 for Nashua, going 7-for-11 at the free throw line. Deja Morgan scored 4, Alexis Murdock 3 and Hayden Adkins and Kaitlynn Miller had 2 points each.

Nashua had 13 fouls, six in the second half. Miller had four and Adkins three while Murdock, Morgan and Dees had two each.

Opheim’s Carrie Taylor, playing for the Unified Scobey-Opheim team, scored 11 points and had two fouls in the Spartans’ victory.

Saturday night the Porcupines again had 10 points at the end of the first quarter but the visiting Fusion scored 23 at the same time. Richey/Lambert increased their lead to 37-18 at the half and outscored Nashua 6-1 in the third.

Dees scored 10 points for Nashua while Guinevere Abern and Adkins had 6 each. Miller added 3 and Murdock 2 points.

Nashua had 14 fouls, nine in the second half. Dees and Adkins were each called for four. Miller had three while Murdock, Madison Harris and Morgan had one a piece.

Nashua enters the postseason with a game against Frazer on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at the District 3-C Girls Tournament. The teams meet at 7:30 p.m. in Wolf Point.
