The Glasgow Area Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture held their 24th Annual Ice Fishing Derby this past Saturday at the Dredge Cuts Trout Pound.
Jaxsen Diesen, a 9-year-old from Miles City, caught the tournament winning fish on his grandfather Joel Reagor's hole. He snagged a 0.48 lb. rainbow trout at 12:16 p.m. for the $2000 first prize.
Glasgow's Casey Mulkey placed second and won $650. He also caught a 0.48 lb. rainbow trout, but his came eight minutes after Diesen's catch.
Dylan Sander of Glasgow won $440 for his 0.48 lb. rainbow trout, caught at 1:26 p.m. Hunter Collinworth of Fort Peck earned $100 and fourth place for a 0.44 lb. rainbow trout caught at 12:10 p.m. Wrangler and Dimon Jones of Hinsdale placed fifth with a 0.44 rainbow trout. The catch at 12:26 p.m. earned them $100.
Travis Kittleson of Glasgow won the 50/50 draw and Norm Sillerud, also of Glasgow, won the Yeti cooler.
There were 38 participants who purchased 78 holes.
